Murder Mystery Reviews

This was the best costume party ever! We had 12 people and everyone got so involved in their characters, I forgot their real names! I loved it. The basement was transformed into a haunted castle, we had tons of food and the decorations and atmostphere was awesome. Everyone dressed like their characters and did some ad-libbing. It was great fun. I highly recommend it for Halloween parties or any time. Loved it!!!!

What a mystery! It really did fool this large gathering of 32 - we went through all 7 rounds of the mystery and no one really guessed "who dun'' it"! I suspect that if there were only 14-16 participants, someone would have guessed sooner. But the more the merrier!

We had a blast. I decorated my basement, making a kind-of maze for the guests to walk through the "dungeons" to get to the party room. Everything was covered in black table clothes and tons of spider webs. It was a lot of work, but it looked great. I made chili and cornbread and pasta with a veggies red sauce. I had 17 people, so I had to create 3 characters which wasn''t too hard, and I got to add some pretty funny dialogue. We ended up going around the table to read all the clues because we had so many people. It worked out pretty well and we all had a lot of fun. No one guessed the murderer, but no one minded. This game was totally worth it and I can''t wait to start planning my next party!

An excellent product which was better than we could possibly have expected. The ability to customise was useful as we personalised bits to suit our guests. We had a group of 9 and used one of the "optional" characters. No-one had any idea she was an extra and actually got accused of the murder with good reasons. Even though 4 of the group had never done a murder party before they soon got the hang of things. We did a couple of rounds before dinner, and one between each course. Overall it lasted about about 6 hours and everyone said it was the best 6 hours they had ever spent. The only extra thing we did, which worked very well, was to replace much of the scene-setting script from the butler with a video from the host of the party (who was sleeping prior to being murdered) made by a couple of amateur dramatic friends of ours.

We had 13 people for this party and we had an excellent time. Everybody was told ahead of time to come and stay in character and most people did. Nobody solved the murder but there was a lot of good guesses. We are planning on purchasing more and making this a regular get together for all of us.

The game takes a long time, more than the two hours I had planned on so everything was a little rushed. There is a comment about food by Shabby that should be moved to earlier in the game I think. I had planned on bringing out stuff on that cue but my guests were too hungry to wait. It was a pretty good game; very easy to use. Nobody guessed the murderer correctly but everyone seemed to have a good time.

We had a great time. We played it for a Halloween/Birthday party and everyone went all out with their costumes and participation. It was so much fun. We've already started making plans for another party.
