This mystery party game is a blast!
I hosted this game for 9 other girls age 10-14. They loved it! Each girl had fun dressing up and getting into character, with arguments actually getting heated. The murderer was much harder to guess than anticipated, but that just made it more fun!

This was an amazing party! We had so much fun playing the characters, it gave us lots of laughs. The outcome was crazy, it took everyone by surprise.

Also-It was great having unisex characters. Our parties are a mix of couples and singles and rarely work out 50-50 on gender. This is a real plus, and when one character didn't know whether her husband or wife had died, it just added to the fun.

The characters in the game were fun and didn't have nearly so flat characters that some of other games I'd looked at. Everyone enjoyed dressing up and we all got into character well. The game started VERY late due to two of the main characters being delayed an hour and half so as a result some of the excitement had worn off. Everyone said they enjoyed playing but everyone was also confused by the solution. Why would the killer of killed the second person? It was noted that they 'knew too much' but having read through all the clues again it is pretty clear the second victim did not, in fact, know too much. Everyone was scratching their heads as well about the black cloak clue that pointed in every direction but the right one. I think these two plot points should be tightened up. Oh and that Reginald saw the shoes of the killer should have been enough for him to have been able to identify them, given the character's identity and what they were doing immediately before. Also the two additional characters that were played (Serpentine and Samson) seemed quite flat compared to the others. Only I knew that they were extras but during the guessing round several people noted that we knew very little about Serpentine especially and she had very little connection to the murders. Final judgment was that the game was fun due to the idea but the clues were not enough to find the killer and in at least one case, in my mind, ruled them out.

We hosted a small birthday party with four 12 and 13 year olds with the Fatal Fairy Tale. My daughter wanted to have guests come up with their own characters (or pick from the list). So we had a Detective Conan Edogawa (mapped nicely to the Holmes character), a President of a neighboring country, a street urchin, and Merlin. Had to modify the clues to match the new characters and the two parents took other characters (especially Cinderella). The girls really liked the game - "the best birthday party I have been to in a long time." Lots of fun.

The Murder Mystery Dinner was a great success! Everyone came in character and costumes. We did it in about 3 and half hours. Since I wasn't Shirley Good and I didn't read the solution clues it was a fun surprise at the end. The website was helpful with characters suggestions and emails contacts. Tips for future: print all the clues out early and get them in envelopes, create a buzz with guest, one thing I did was use 70 and 80 slang words in emails and text and everyone loved that, it help create the Buzz! get all your props early. I waited till the last 2 day before the party and it turn out to be a lot of work. Once everything is setup the party was a blast!!!! I would do it again and would recommend it to friends. This game was terrific! We had 6 13yr olds and it was a blast. We took the advice of previous reviews and did not do the bookmark game. Instead, in order to earn the bonus clue, they "drew straws". Actually, it was picking the chocolate peep with red food coloring on it..they got the clue. All in all it was a very good game. Clever and a ton of fun. The website and ability to send invitations was terrific. I was impressed all around and then even more impressed when my kids had an absolute blast!

We had a blast! So many people said it was one of the best dinner parties they had ever been to. This was my "first murder mystery dinner" and will definitely do more. We did our own French menu and borrowed French props. My neighbor made two French flags with fabric I bought and we hung one by our front door to set the stage so to speak and one on a pole by our back deck. I used genuine crime scene tape and also had fun with the forensic evidence.
